The Little Theatre, Dunstable

Hire The Little Theatre

Your event, our stage

Looking for an intimate, characterful venue in the heart of Dunstable?

The Little Theatre offers a welcoming setting where audiences feel close to the action. Home to Dunstable Rep since 1968, our venue has hosted generations of performers, theatre companies and community groups, and we’d be delighted to discuss bringing your event to our stage.

A venue that brings people together

Our 99-seat raked auditorium is particularly well suited to performances and events that benefit from a strong connection between the stage and the audience.

The theatre could provide a home for:

  • Plays and small-scale theatrical productions
  • Rehearsals, workshops and play readings
  • Comedy, spoken-word and other live performances
  • Talks, presentations and community events
  • Meetings and group activities

If you’re unsure whether the theatre would suit your plans, please get in touch. We’ll be happy to talk through your idea.

What you’ll find at the theatre

The Little Theatre includes:

  • An intimate, raked auditorium seating 99 people
  • A stage and backstage area
  • Changing rooms
  • A box office
  • A licensed bar
  • A coffee room and the quieter Dymond Room
  • Step-free access for audiences

Our team can also discuss your event’s technical, staffing and front-of-house requirements with you.

A theatre with character

The Little Theatre began life as a school before becoming Dunstable’s library and, eventually, the performance venue you see today.

That history gives the building a warmth and personality that purpose-built meeting rooms and larger venues often lack. It is a place made for sharing stories, welcoming audiences and creating memorable experiences.
