A stage play performed as a 1948 BBC radio broadcast adapted from the screenplay
There are not many people who have not heard of or seen the festive holiday classic 1946 film of It’s A Wonderful Life starring James Stewart and Donna Reed. Our January production of It’s A Wonderful Life - Radio Play - ‘Live’ is an adaptation by Christine Foster of this festive classic story.
A group of actors is trying to perform a live radio broadcast on the BBC Home Service of IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE in a small studio on Christmas Eve 1948, but the Sound Effects person doesn’t show up. So in addition to acting in real time at the microphones the performers have to rush to the SFX table and figure out how to do all the sounds themselves!
The cast of four actors deliver the lines of all 26 characters in this adaptation. Dressed in 1940s costumes our ensemble players will delight our audiences with their interpretation of this wonderful classic story.
